Lucy Chelton: "I LOVE cooking with my dad."

Years before she became a celebrity chef, Lucy Chelton found her passion, standing on a step stool, cooking with her dad.

The Rev. Eric Chelton, Christ United Methodist Church: "She kept telling us she wanted to go on a cooking show and we just did it to appease her.  She was only nine years old."

Serving up rattlesnake nuggets, Lucy won Season 3 of "Chopped Junior" on the Food Network and shared part of her 10,000 dollar winnings with the local food bank.

Lucy Chelton, Christ United Methodist Church: "By being on 'Chopped' I learned that I can do more things than I thought I could."

Contributing is a family tradition at the Chelton's church, Christ United Methodist in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Mom Miki is the Director of Music.

Lucy sings in the children's choir.

Dad Eric Chelton serves as Assistant Pastor, and big sister Belle helps wherever needed.

And now Lucy is finding new ways to connect with her church family by sharing her gift.

Lucy Chelton: "At this church, I can cook for other people who are sick or just got surgery and I like knowing that I'm helping somebody."

George Geisendorfer, Christ United Methodist Church: "Lucy helped me out by bringing me meals two or three times. And I have to say, she always did it with a smile on her face. She was very, very happy to do it."

In addition to serving on the caring committee, Lucy's cooks for new member classes and special church meals.

Carolyn Hadka, Christ United Methodist Church: "Everything was really good and we enjoyed it. All my kids ate, which doesn't always happen."

Lucy makes an impact in every food ministry here; from packing weekend food for needy children to cooking monthly for the food bank.

Kristi Weatherwax, Christ United Methodist Church: "Besides her amazing attitude and willingness to help, sometimes she'll even bring her own knives, and they're better than the knives we have here at church."

Miki Chelton, Christ United Methodist Church: "She just gets that great joy when she's cooking for other people and she does it with such passion and compassion."

The Rev. Eric Chelton: "You can tell that one of her ways that she shows people love is the way she cooks for them. She takes pride that she comes to this church and she definitely takes pride in her faith."

Lucy Chelton: "I feel productive when I do it and helpful.  It makes me feel like I'm showing God's love."
