Established by the General Conference to support recruitment and education of ordained and diaconal ministers for United Methodism. The Ministerial Education Fund is one of the general funds of the denomination and is raised through apportionment to the local churches. One quarter of the funds raised remains within the Annual Conference for its program of ministerial and continuing education. The remaining three quarters is primarily distributed to the theological schools of The United Methodist Church for current expenses. A limited portion of the funds is used for ministerial enlistment and development. The Ministerial Education Fund is administered by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.
