Scripture Reading
"This day is holy to our Lord. Don't be sad, because the joy from the Lord is your strength!" Nehemiah 8:10, CEB
Reflection
Sometimes, when we are happy, we feel like we can do anything. Our chores can even become more exciting when we find ways of doing them that bring us joy. We may also experience that strength when we get an exceptional report card, win an important game, do a great job on stage or get a promotion at work.
On Easter Sunday (April 21), Christians around the world celebrate the joy of Jesus' resurrection. Easter teaches us that sadness and fear do not have the final word. Instead, our strength comes from the joy of knowing that God is bigger than our biggest fears.
