How will this Advance project help to address the need?
This Advance funds renewable energy projects in developing countries, including solar arrays, wind turbines, and other renewable energy strategies. This Advance supports the Global Ministries EarthKeepers program to train United Methodists in eco-theology, community organizing, anti-racism and project planning so that they can launch projects in their communities. It also supports other Creation Care initiatives within The United Methodist Church.
Describe the primary goal of the project
The primary goal of the Renewable Energy portion of the program is to increase access to renewable energy in developing countries. The primary goal of the Creation Care portion of the program is to equip United Methodists to engage in environmental initiatives in their communities.
