Church transforms its community for 120+ years

Standing for nearly 125 years, Ilagan United Methodist Church in Ilagan City, Isabela, Philippines, is known as a centenary church that continues to do meaningful missions for Christ by looking after the spiritual and physical well-being of its community.

The congregation is actively involved in various ministries that focus on outreach and holistic ministry, including elderly visitation, an annual outreach to persons deprived of liberty, visits to the Lingap Center for Abandoned Children, support for a protection program for women & children, assistance for indigent families, and a medical mission in celebration of the church’s 122nd anniversary.

The church is also deeply invested in youth and children’s ministries, partnering with the Christian Shane Fonville Youth Foundation to engage and empower the next generation.

Every Sunday, the church holds a worship service with Holy Communion, followed by Sunday school and choir practice. After worship, members proceed to their mission point at Sitio Bating, a lay-led outreach focused on discipleship and evangelism.

Ilagan UMC is a church that welcomes people with open hearts, open minds and open doors.
