St. Simons Island, Georgia – Council of Bishops President Bishop Ken Carter this morning urged fellow bishops to call upon God to help The United Methodist Church to move forward during this time when the church finds itself in unfamiliar territory.

In his presidential address at the opening plenary of the Council of Bishops November meeting at Epworth by the Sea, Bishop Carter said by trusting in God, bishops will lead the denomination forward with scriptural imagination.

Attached is the full text of Bishop Carter's Address.
